Why Give? Click HERE to give.
Giving is an act of worship. As a church that values the principal of putting God first in our finances, we give as well. There are basically two forms of financial giving: Our Tithes and Offerings.
To tithe is to obey God in giving the first ten percent of our income. (Lev 27:30) His design for the tithe is that it be given to our local church. (Malachi 3:10) Tithing is an act of worship and obedience to God. However, it is also a commandment tied to great promise. Nowhere else in the scripture does God say to “Try it! Put me to the test!” (Malachi 3:10 NLT) When we tithe, God promises to bless us. Those blessings look differently for each of us and though God’s blessing is not our motive for tithing, it does remind us of God’s goodness toward us.
There will also be times God will move on our heart to give above and beyond our tithe. This is called an offering. Offerings can be given to specific direction.
"Just as you excel in everything...in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness; see that you also excel in this grace of giving."- 2 Corinthians 8:7NIV
Strategically, we choose to partner with organizations that serve to help build the local church, meet people’s physical and spiritual needs, and spread the Gospel. Through your giving, we are able to accomplish so much together for the kingdom of God.
